Seasons

On our little mountain the weather has gone from summer to late fall temps in a few days. Today actually is the warmest it's been in a week or two. With a high around 57 or so. Feels good and the sun is finally out (it's been raining and over cast a lot lately). We're hauling wood today, already have picked up one load and are probably gonna go back latter for more. We are thinking this winter is gonna be a cold and snowy one. The hornets nests have been high in the trees, the wooly worms have been completely black, when I was driving to work I saw some pretty fat deer (back in August), and all the persimmon seeds we've cut open have had spoon shaped codaledians. All the old wives tales are saying a snowy cold winter.. We'll see, only time will tell. 😊

The trees round here at getting a little color. I'm hoping for a trip to the next county to the south to see the trees; the mountains and trees down that way are stunning.

Farm life is changing with the seasons of course. Fall and winter garden has to be put in and the summer one ripped out. Need to make sure all the animals shelters are winter proofed and need to make or buy some dog houses... We discovered despight all their fur, our fur babies do get a little cold (well duh our house is north facing). The like to try coming in the house but that would be a disaster. They wrestle A LOT and would just destroy everything. They aren't house broke.

We also have cattle on our place again. Our neighbor is renting the field for a month or so, only a few head of cattle, hefiers I think.

Chickens are everywhere! Not sure how many we have now but it's a lot. We ordered a bunch of straight run bantams, and ten of the 16 turned out to be roosters.😳 uh-oh. Haha.

That's most of what I can think of right now. We have various upcoming events and activities we are really looking forward to.

Such as a church meeting up north next weekend, week after that the boys I believe may be going to a boys home to do a martial arts demo with out class, the next weekend we have our Taekwondo belt testing. The boys will be testing for red/black belts, [red with a black strip down the middle]  and I'll be testing for my green belt. Hooray! The boys are so close to black belt! And I'm close to half way! 😀

Deer season also starts soon... Well firearms deer season, bow has been going on for a while but alas none of us have a bow.. I'm working on training so I can get a bow.
Yikers this post is get long, and not many pictures to compensate..oh well.

Have a beautiful Saturday and blessed worship tomorrow!
